Competition Rules and Application

The Purpose of Holding The YouTube Piano Competition:

Piano learners who have worked hard toward their goals may find themselves in a difficult situation to participate in a competition due to geographic and financial constraints. Therefore, by providing a convenient and inclusive online competition, pianists have the opportunity to display their skills and to receive critique from prominent judges from anywhere across the globe.

YouTube Primary Screening:

Participants will send a YouTube video link to the application form on the website with one, two, or three songs recorded.

Recordings do not have to be of high quality. The online piano competition will be judged by pianists and professors from Japan and abroad. Judges will provide reviews and advice sheets for students. We cannot accept any complaints related to the examination.

Notes on Playing:

You must play by memory when recording.

Make sure that we can see your whole body, including your face and hands. Only unedited videos will be accepted, but you may shoot the video and sound source separately.

There is no designation of the piano used for playing.

Limited to videos taken after May 2022.

The participant will be disqualified if the selected time is exceeded or a song different from the submitted song is played.

The organizer cannot take any responsibility for the trouble of the competition.

This competition does not belong to any organization, political group, or religious group.
